Verizon Creates a Dark Spell with their New Phone Eris

We first talked about Eris, the Goddess of Strife and Misery, in relation to celebutane Paris Hilton.   Paris is an "heiress" , which phonetically resonates the word Eris.  This is a fun leap to make, and you can follow this rabbit hole deeper by looking up Paris and what his role in myth is.

 I reference this dark goddess, Eris, because she has made another appearance in the noo-sphere recently, in the form of the new "Droid Eris" phone from Verizon. 

The goddess Eris was often represented specifically as the daimon of the strife of war, who haunted the battlefield and delighted in human bloodshed.  She was actually the cause of the Trojan War.

This isn’t the first time Verizon has turned to mythology to name their products.  They named their fiber optical broadband service Fios.  Fios has Irish Gaelic origins and is generally believed to refer to knowledge.  Fios is also one of the three Druidpriests the Greeks brought to Ireland, commonly linked to intelligence.  

In this age of activating archetypes and bringing life to ancient mythologies, it’s easy to see what side of the war for our future Verizon falls on.   By calling on the dark goddess Eris, they are enacting a very bad spell.  True conspiranoids, and anyone wanting to free themselves of the Matrix, should stay away from Verizon where they can.
