Um. . .did anyone else see George Bush and Vladamir Putin almost make out at the opening ceremonies of the Olympics?
Bush has repeatedly called Putin his "Good friend" and Putin has been quoted as saying Russia and America are now partners. So it seemed strange to me that Russia invaded Georgia (a synch-ridden state) on the same day that the Olympics started. Then I remember a Sun Tzu quote: All Warfare is Based On Deception.
Russia and Georgia have not been good friends since the U.S.S.R. became Russia and a bunch of outlying provinces, but now we see the idea/symbol of the Cold War come back into play as Russia pulls out of NATO and Russia is threatening and posing like a big bad bear.
So who are they really going to war against? We the people. . .that’s ultimately who’s going to pay. Bush will be in his fortress in South America and Putin will be staying at one of his secret mansions in Siberia.
Does it seem to anyone else like now that the War on Terra has lost momentum, they need a new eternal enemy? So they resuscitate the cold war by invading Georgia.
